This beautiful fish (pictured on the left at stocking), caught – to the best of our knowledge – for the first time since his introduction to Mopley in December 2006 gave Gary Moth a good run before finally being landed on the east gate swim during the last week of May.

Weighing in at 27lb 4oz the Common Carp showed no sign of having been caught before and was still in the excellent condition it was when introduced eighteen months ago.

The netting by Sparsholt College to remove the small fish from Bilcombes and, subject to water levels Mopley Pond, is scheduled to be carried out in December.

We will keep some of the lovely Perch that are currently giving some of you such pleasure catching.
