Latest news – May 2015

Hi.  We have kicked off our new season with a full Carp syndicate membership and a healthy number of season tickets already purchased.

There was never any doubt of filling the Bilcombes carp syndicate spaces as there was a waiting list of forty.

The carp in Dark Lane are continuing to put on weight, there should be several over 20lb in the next eighteen months.

These are the younger fish that I had stocked a while ago and some of these should eventually reach 30lb +.

A good selection of fish have been caught at Mopley with Tench, Bream (up to 5lb), Perch, Roach (up to 2lb), Rudd (including a Golden Rudd of about 2lb).

The carp at this venue remain a challenge but are feeding. Some of the older, pretty, carp have caught recently (17 to 22lb).

I have run the fishery for five, coming up six, years and fully intended to carry on for another few.

However, an opportunity has come up for me to retire and move to Devon and I am taking it.

I will miss the fishery and its members but am happy to hand the reigns over to Stuart Grieve who has fished the lakes for several years and knows them well.

Some of you may know home from the Jolly Sailor Pub in Fawley.

Many thanks to your support over the years and I hope you will continue to support

Cadland  Fishery.

Albert Turner.
